Why the warning appears
The project wiki says Oculus/Quest can show warnings that an app has been modified after patching. That is consistent with the platform detecting a changed APK.
What the wiki recommends
The installation page tells users to use the platform’s Close/Open App flow rather than choosing a restore option during these post-install prompts. It also says a headset restart may correct a confusing “not installed” state.
Keep platform and project claims separate
A Quest warning is not a third-party virus scan, and a project statement is not the same as Meta endorsement. LemonLoader does not convert either into a fake trust badge.
Account and data risk
The official wiki’s broader disclaimer says users accept risks such as broken apps, lost save data, or account consequences. Read the target app’s own rules before modding.
Quest adds a platform layer
Meta Quest can display system warnings or confusing app-state messages after a modified APK is installed. Keep those platform messages separate from installer output and LemonLoader runtime logs. A headset restart may correct the UI state documented by the wiki, but it does not solve every compatibility problem.
Document the headset state
When troubleshooting, note the headset model, target app version, LemonLoader release, whether USB/SideQuest was involved, and the exact point where the warning or failure appears. Avoid assuming that advice for a phone or emulator maps directly to Quest.
Also review the target app/platform rules before modding. Technical capability and permission under service terms are different questions.
